Marisol Rendon

Marisol Rendón works as an artist, designer and educator. She received her MFA from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California in 2003. During the last 12 years, she and her husband Ingram Ober have collaborated on projects in public art, museum exhibitions, social/civic events and have participated in art and aesthetics discussions. They are currently working on two public art commissions for the City of San Diego at the Bayside Fire Station and Southcrest Trails Park and have a completed project at Mira Costa College, San Elijo campus. Besides her creative practice, she works for the San Diego Community College District as a tenured professor and coordinator of Mixed MediaThree-Dimensional Design and Art program at Southwestern College.

As an individual artist she has exhibited in countries such as France, Switzerland, Colombia, the United Kingdom and the United States. In California, she has exhibited with the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and the California Center for the Arts, Escondido and worked closely with the New Children’s Museum, San Diego on different exhibitions and programs such as Mass Creativity and the Innovator’s Lab artist in residence. Marisol has presented as a guest lecturer at the San Diego Museum of Art, Mira Costa College, the College Art Association (CAA), UCLA, and the Sur Biennial at Cerritos College. Currently she is part of a research group and lecturer for the master’s program MAIA (Maestría en Artes Integradas con el Ambiente) offered by Cauca University in Colombia and also serves as a member of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee for the Port of San Diego and is a member of the Artist Advisory Committee for the New Children’s Museum in San Diego.
